The Eight-Nation Alliance

Once upon a time, in the year 1900, eight different countries decided to work together. They were Germany, Japan, Russia, Britain, France, the United States, Italy, and Austria-Hungary. Think of it like a super-team formed from many different schools!

They came together because some people in a country called China were in trouble and needed help. These eight countries sent their brave soldiers to help them out. It was a big team-up!

There was a group in China called the Boxers who didn't like foreigners. They were surrounding a special place in the city of Beijing where people from other countries lived and worked. These foreigners were like guests who couldn't leave their house!

The Eight-Nation Alliance wanted to make sure these people were safe and could get out. So, they sent their armies to help open the doors and let everyone go free. It was like a rescue mission!

The soldiers from these eight countries traveled a very long way to China. There were about 45,000 soldiers in total. That's more people than can fit on many school buses!

They didn't have a big fight to start, but they did have to get past some forts. Once they got to Beijing, they helped the people who were stuck. It was a very important mission that lasted for a while, and it changed things in China.

After the soldiers helped everyone, they signed a special paper called the Boxer Protocol. This paper was like an agreement to end the big adventure. The Eight-Nation Alliance showed that when countries work together, they can do big things.

Even though they were from different places, they joined forces for a common goal. This event is remembered in history because it shows how countries can cooperate, for good or for not-so-good reasons.
