Edward I of England

Imagine a king who was super tall, like a really tall grown-up! That was Edward I. He was so tall, about 6 feet 2 inches, which is taller than many grown-ups today. He was called 'Longshanks' because of his height. Edward became King of England a very long time ago, in 1272. He was also in charge of Ireland and a place called Gascony. He was a busy king with lots of responsibilities!

Before he was king, Edward was a brave soldier. He even went on a big adventure called a Crusade to the Holy Land! When he became king, he had to deal with problems in his own country. He fought against rebels and then decided to conquer Wales. He built amazing stone castles, like giant LEGO towers, to keep control. These castles still stand today, showing how strong he was!
