Where is India?

The Dominion of India was a huge country in Asia, a bit like a giant puzzle piece! It had sunny beaches, tall mountains, and green forests. It was a land of amazing weather, from super hot summers to cool winters.

Think of it as a place with lots of different backyards, from sandy deserts to snowy peaks. This new country was born from a much bigger land that used to be ruled by faraway kings and queens.

A New Beginning!

Once upon a time, India was part of a big empire ruled by the United Kingdom. But the people of India wanted to be in charge of their own home! So, on August 15, 1947, India became the Dominion of India, a brand new independent country. It was like graduating from a big school and starting your own adventure. This was a super important moment, like a birthday for the whole country!

Amazing People and Traditions

India is home to so many wonderful people with colorful clothes and delicious food! They have amazing festivals and stories that have been told for hundreds of years. People speak many different languages, like a giant choir singing many songs at once. One very special person was Mahatma Gandhi, who helped India become independent using peaceful ways. He was like a superhero for his country!

Working and Building

When India became a new country, people had to work together to build it up. They started farms to grow food and built factories to make things. It was a bit like building a giant LEGO castle, with everyone adding their own bricks. Many people worked hard to make sure everyone had enough to eat and a place to live. They also started schools so kids could learn and grow!
