Key Facts
Right Next to the River Thames!
City of London School is super close to a famous river in England called the River Thames. It's like having a giant playground right outside your classroom window! The school is also next to a cool bridge called the Millennium Bridge, which looks like a giant silver ribbon. Across the river, there's a big modern art museum called Tate Modern. So, it's a very exciting place to learn and play!
A School with a Long, Long Story!
This school has been around for a very, very long time! It started a long, long time ago, even before your grandparents were born. It was first thought of because someone wanted to help poor children learn.
Over the years, the school moved to different spots. It used to be on Milk Street, then near the river on Victoria Embankment, and now it's in its super modern building on Queen Victoria Street. It's like a building that keeps getting a cool makeover!
Super Smart Students and Famous Friends!
Lots of very clever boys have gone to this school. Some of them became Prime Ministers who lead the country, like H. H. Asquith! Others were amazing scientists who discovered important things, like Peter Higgs, who helped us understand a special particle. Even Harry Potter's actor, Daniel Radcliffe, went here! It's like a school that helps kids become superheroes in real life!
Learning and Growing Every Day!
About 1,000 boys go to City of London School. They are all between 11 and 18 years old, which is like being in middle school and high school all at once! They have lots of teachers, about 100 of them, who help them learn all sorts of cool things.
Some kids join when they are 11, like starting a new grade, and others join when they are older. It's a place where everyone works hard to learn and grow!
