Imagine someone who loved climbing super tall mountains more than anything! That was Bradford Washburn. He was an explorer who climbed many big mountains in Alaska. He even climbed with his wife, Barbara, who was also a brave climber and the first woman to reach the top of Denali! They were like a mountain-climbing superhero team.

Bradford wasn't just a climber; he was also an amazing photographer. He took thousands of pictures of mountains and ice, like giant frozen rivers called glaciers. His photos were so good, they helped other climbers know the best way to climb. Some of his pictures are so detailed, they are like maps made of photos! He used airplanes to get the best views for his amazing pictures.

Besides climbing and taking photos, Bradford helped build something really special: the Boston Museum of Science! He was the director for a super long time, from when he was younger until he was quite old.
