Key Facts
Meet the Awesome Ocean Alliance!
BIMSTEC is like a special club for seven countries that live near the big, blue Bay of Bengal. Think of it like a group of friends who live near the same playground and decide to play together and share their toys! These countries are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. They are all friends who want to help each other out.
How Did This Friendship Start?
A long time ago, these countries realized they shared something special: the beautiful Bay of Bengal! It’s a huge ocean that connects them all. They decided it would be much better to work together than to be all by themselves. So, they formed this group to share ideas and help each other grow, like sharing your best drawing with your friends.
Why Are They Such Good Buddies?
These countries are like a giant family! Together, they have more people than all the kids in all the schools in the whole world! They also have lots of money, enough to buy a million ice creams! By being friends, they can share cool things like new ways to build bridges or grow yummy food, making everyone’s life better.
What Do These Friends Do Together?
The BIMSTEC friends have lots of plans! They have 14 different things they want to work on, like making sure everyone has enough food, or helping each other with new technology. They even have special places, like little offices, where they meet to talk about these plans. It’s like having different teams for different games at recess!
