Meet the Bear Family!

Bears are super cool mammals with thick fur and strong bodies. They have a great sense of smell, which helps them find yummy food! There are eight different kinds of bears living all over the world. Some live in snowy places, while others love forests. They can be black, brown, white, or even a mix!

Where Do Bears Hang Out?

Bears live in lots of different places called habitats. Polar bears live in the icy Arctic, where they can swim in cold water. Brown bears, like grizzlies, live in forests and mountains in North America and Europe. Black bears love forests too, and some even live near towns! Pandas munch on bamboo in China.

What's on the Bear Menu?

Bears are often omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals! They love berries, nuts, and honey. But they also eat fish, insects, and sometimes even small animals. Polar bears are carnivores and mostly eat seals. Pandas are herbivores and eat almost only bamboo!

Bear Babies and Big Sleepers!

Baby bears are called cubs, and they are super tiny when they are born! Mama bears are very protective of their cubs. Many bears hibernate in the winter, which is like a long, deep sleep to save energy when food is hard to find. They sleep in cozy dens they dig themselves.
