Battle of Nablus (1918)

Long ago, during a big war called World War I, soldiers from the British Empire were trying to move through a place called the Judean Hills. They wanted to get past a town called Nablus. The Ottoman Empire's soldiers were already there, guarding the roads like a big, strong wall. It was like a game of tag, but with real soldiers and important goals!

One day, the British soldiers got a signal to start their attack! First, there was a loud boom of cannons, like thunder. Then, the soldiers marched forward. They fought through the day and into the night. Other British soldiers were also fighting on the side, trying to capture bridges over a river. It was a very busy time for everyone!

After lots of fighting and even planes dropping bombs, the Ottoman soldiers had to leave Nablus. British soldiers and brave horse riders rode into the town. They also captured lots of Ottoman soldiers who were trying to escape. It was a big win for the British Empire, and they got to control the area around Nablus.

This battle, along with another one nearby, was like the final push to end a big war in that part of the world. After this, the British soldiers kept going and even captured a big city called Damascus! It showed that the British Empire was strong and helped bring the whole war to an end much faster.
