Alanya

Alanya is a super sunny city in Turkey, right on the edge of the big, blue Mediterranean Sea. It's like a warm hug from the sun! It's a bit east of another big city called Antalya.

Long, long ago, Alanya was a very important place! Many powerful groups, like the Romans and the Ottomans, wanted to protect this special spot. The most famous ruler was Alaeddin Kayqubad I, who built amazing things. The most famous is Alanya Castle, a huge fortress that sits high on a hill, looking over the whole city and the sea. It's like a giant playground from the past, full of stories!

Besides the big castle, Alaeddin Kayqubad I also built a cool Red Tower, called Kızıl Kule. It’s bright red and stands tall, like a superhero’s lookout post! He also built a shipyard, called Tersane, where they used to build ships to sail the Mediterranean.
