The Big Shakes of Davao Oriental!

On October 10, 2025, the ground in a place called Davao Oriental in the Philippines decided to have a big shake! It wasn't just one shake, but two! The first one was super strong, like a giant stomping its foot, and then another one followed. These shakes were so powerful they made the ocean wave hello with a tsunami warning for many places!

These earthquakes were like two big friends giving the Earth a really hard hug! The first shake was so strong it was like a giant monster trying to lift a school bus! The second one was still pretty strong, like a really big dog jumping. Lots and lots of smaller shakes, called aftershocks, happened afterward, like little giggles after a big laugh.

When the ground shakes like that, it can cause a lot of trouble. Sadly, some people got hurt, and some homes were damaged or even fell down. Imagine nearly 40,000 homes needing repairs or rebuilding! Even schools and workplaces had to close for a little while. It was a very difficult time for everyone there.

Even though the earthquakes were scary, people from other countries, like the United States and Japan, sent help! They sent things like food and supplies to help the people of Davao Oriental. It shows that even when something big and scary happens, there are always kind people ready to lend a hand.
