Imagine a very important person who loved books and learning so much, he wanted everyone to have a chance to go to school! That was Zakir Husain. He was born a long, long time ago in a city called Hyderabad.
He grew up to be a brilliant thinker and a leader. He even became the President of India, which is like being the captain of a whole country! He believed that education was like a superpower that could help everyone.
Building Schools for Everyone!
Zakir Husain was a big fan of Mahatma Gandhi, another famous leader. Together, they helped start a special university called Jamia Millia Islamia. It was like building a brand new playground for ideas!
He was the boss of this university for many years, making sure it was a great place to learn. He also thought about how kids should learn. He wanted them to learn in their own language and for school to be free for everyone.
A President Who Loved Learning
Did you know Zakir Husain was the first Muslim President of India? That's a really big deal! He was also the first president to sadly pass away while still being president. He served for a shorter time than some other presidents, but he made a big impact. He was given a super special award called the Bharat Ratna, which means 'Jewel of India', for all his amazing work.

There's even a giant rose garden, the biggest in Asia, named in his honor!
