Yosemite Valley

Yosemite Valley is a super long and deep canyon in California, like a giant's playground! It's about as long as 12 football fields and so deep that the tops of the cliffs are higher than 100 giraffes stacked up! Giant rocks called Half Dome and El Capitan stand guard. The valley is covered in tall pine trees, making it a cozy home for nature.

A long, long time ago, huge rivers of ice, called glaciers, slowly moved through the mountains. These ice giants were like enormous bulldozers, scraping and carving the land. As they melted, they left behind this amazing U-shaped valley. It's like the glaciers dug out a giant bathtub for the Merced River to flow through!

Get ready for some amazing waterfalls! Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America, and it's super impressive, especially in spring when the snow melts.
