Willis Tower

Get ready to look UP! Willis Tower is a super-duper tall building in Chicago, a big city in America. It has 110 floors, which is like stacking 110 houses on top of each other!

For a long time, it was the tallest building in the whole world. Now, it's still one of the tallest in the Western Hemisphere, which is the half of the world where America is. It's so tall that you can see it from really, really far away!

Building Willis Tower was like a giant puzzle! Architects and engineers designed it using nine square shapes that fit together like LEGOs. Seven of these shapes get smaller as they go up.

The outside is covered in shiny aluminum and dark glass, making it sparkle in the sun. It took a lot of smart thinking and hard work to make this amazing building stand so tall and strong against the wind and weather.

Want to see the world from way up high? Willis Tower has a special place called the Skydeck. It's the highest place in the United States where people can go to look out at the city. More than 1.7 million people visit the Skydeck every year! It's like having a bird's eye view of everything – cars look like tiny toys and the streets look like ribbons.

For a long time, everyone called this building the Sears Tower because a big company called Sears used to have its offices there. But now, it's called Willis Tower. Even though the name changed, many people in Chicago still call it by its old name. The building is so famous that it has even been in movies and TV shows!
