Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky was a super-famous ice hockey player from Canada. People called him 'the Great One' because he was SO good at hockey! He played for a long, long time, about 20 years, and was amazing at scoring goals and helping his teammates score too. He's like the king of hockey!

Wayne grew up in Canada and loved playing hockey. He even had a special rink in his backyard where he practiced all the time! Even though he wasn't the biggest kid, he was super smart and fast on the ice. He knew exactly where the puck would go, like magic!

Wayne Gretzky is special because he broke so many hockey records! He scored more points and made more assists (passes that lead to goals) than any other player ever. Imagine if you could do one thing better than everyone else in the whole world – that's how good Wayne was at hockey!

Wayne had a favorite spot on the ice, right behind the other team's net. Players called it 'Gretzky's office' because he was so good at making plays happen from there! He was also known for being a good sport and didn't like when players fought too much.
