Uppsala: Sweden's Awesome Old City!

Uppsala is a city in Sweden, a country far away where it can get pretty snowy! It's like a big sibling to Stockholm, the capital city, and it's about as far as a long school bus ride. This city is special because it's been the most important church place in Sweden for a super long time, since way back in 1164!

That's older than many castles you've seen in storybooks. It's a place where history feels alive!

Uppsala has a giant castle called Uppsala Castle, built by a king a long, long time ago. It was so important it was like a second capital! And guess what?

It's home to the biggest church in all of Scandinavia, Uppsala Cathedral. It’s so tall, it’s like a few giraffes stacked on top of each other! This city also invented a super important way to measure how hot or cold things are, using numbers like 0 and 100.
