The University of Dhaka is like a super big school in the country of Bangladesh. It's so old, it was started way back in 1921! That's more than 100 years ago, even before your grandparents were born. It's a special place where lots of smart people go to learn and discover new things. Think of it as a huge learning playground for grown-ups!
A Long, Long Time Ago...
This big university started in 1921. Before it was a school, the land it sits on was used for other things. The people who built it wanted a place for learning that was like the big universities in a faraway country called Britain.
It was built on land that was once part of a rich person's estate. It's one of the oldest active universities in Bangladesh, meaning it's been running non-stop for a very long time!
Why This School is Super Important!
The University of Dhaka is like a superhero for Bangladesh! Students and teachers from this university were super brave and helped their country become independent in 1971. They were leaders in big movements for fairness and freedom. Many famous and important people, like a Nobel Prize winner, studied here. It's a place that has helped shape the whole country!

At this university, students learn all sorts of cool things. They study science, history, art, and much more. Some students even become famous scientists, like Satyendra Nath Bose, who helped us understand tiny particles.
