Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain is like a super-duper, enormous water sculpture in Rome, Italy. It's so big, it's taller than a three-story building! It's covered in amazing statues of horses, people, and even a sea god named Oceanus. This fountain is the biggest Baroque fountain in Rome, which means it's super fancy and decorated in a special old style. It looks like a scene from a fairytale, but it's real!

This amazing fountain is actually the end of a very, very old water pipe called an aqueduct. For hundreds of years, people in Rome have used these pipes to bring fresh water from far away. The Trevi Fountain is the grand finale, where all that water bursts out and makes a beautiful, noisy show. It's like the city's giant bathtub, but way more exciting and with lots of splashing!

Did you know there's a special secret about the Trevi Fountain? If you toss a coin over your shoulder into the water, it's supposed to make a wish come true! People from all over the world visit and toss coins. It's estimated that over 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain every single day! That's a lot of wishes and a lot of money!

This incredible fountain wasn't built all at once. The idea started a long, long time ago, but the amazing design we see today was created by an Italian architect named Nicola Salvi. He started building it in 1732. After he passed away, another artist named Giuseppe Pannini finished the job in 1762. So, it took many talented people many years to make this giant water masterpiece.
