Traleika Glacier

Traleika Glacier is a super-duper big ice river in Alaska, a state far, far away in the United States. It's tucked inside a giant park called Denali National Park. This park is full of tall mountains, wild animals like bears and moose, and amazing views. The glacier itself is part of a huge mountain called Mount Deborah. It’s like a frozen waterfall that never stops moving!

Glaciers are made from snow that falls and falls for hundreds and thousands of years. When too much snow piles up, it gets squished together so tightly that it turns into ice. This ice is so heavy it starts to slide downhill, like a slow-motion sled ride. Traleika Glacier has been forming for a very, very long time, slowly carving out the land as it moves. It’s like nature’s own sculptor!

Even though it looks still, Traleika Glacier is always moving, but very, very slowly. It might only move as fast as a snail crawls, or maybe as fast as you walk to the playground.
