Meet the Twisters and the Floods!

From April 2nd to April 7th, 2025, the United States had a super wild weather event! It was like the sky decided to throw a big, messy party. First, there were lots of tornadoes, those giant spinning funnels of wind that can be as tall as a skyscraper!

Then, the rain just kept falling and falling, making rivers swell up like giant bathtubs. This happened in the middle and southern parts of the country, causing lots of trouble for people and homes.

When the Sky Got Angry

Scientists who watch the weather saw this big storm coming! They knew it would be a big deal. On April 2nd, a special warning called a 'high risk' was given. Then, BAM! Tornadoes started touching down. One big tornado in Arkansas was so huge it was like a monster truck spinning around! In Missouri, a tornado was so strong it tossed cars like toys. It was a very scary time for many towns.

Water, Water Everywhere!

While the tornadoes were spinning, the rain was also having a party! It rained so much, especially in a place called Kentucky, that rivers started to overflow. Imagine your bathtub filling up so much that water spills onto the floor – but this was like a whole town getting flooded!

Some rivers got so high they were almost at their highest ever. This made it hard for people to get around and caused a lot of damage.

A Week of Big Weather

This whole event lasted for several days, from April 2nd to April 7th. It was a big deal because so many tornadoes happened, and the flooding was really bad. Sadly, some people got hurt, and some even lost their lives. The storms also cost a lot of money to fix everything that was broken. It shows how powerful nature can be!
