For many years, Ted Kaczynski sent packages that exploded to people he thought were using too much technology. These packages were called bombs. He did this for a long time, from 1978 to 1995. Ted Kaczynski wrote a long letter, like a story, called a manifesto. In it, he explained why he was sending the bombs. He believed that modern technology was bad for nature and people. He wanted everyone to read his letter and understand his ideas. He even promised to stop sending bombs if a newspaper printed his manifesto!

The police spent a lot of time and money trying to catch the person sending the bombs. They called him the 'Unabomber' because he sometimes sent bombs to universities and airlines. Finally, Ted's own brother read his manifesto and realized it sounded just like his brother! This helped the police find Ted Kaczynski and stop his dangerous actions.
