Sweden at the Olympics!

Did you know Sweden is super good at the Olympics? They've won medals in almost every single Games they've been to! That's a lot of shiny medals.

They first went to the Olympics way back in 1896, which is older than your grandparents' grandparents! They only missed one Summer Olympics because not many people showed up. But since 1908, they've won a medal at EVERY single Olympic Games.

That's a record for the longest winning streak ever!

Guess what? Sweden has hosted the Olympic Games before! In 1912, the whole world came to Stockholm, Sweden's capital city, for the Summer Olympics. Imagine all the athletes running, jumping, and swimming right there! Also, some of the Olympic events in 1956 had to be held in Stockholm because of rules about animals. So, Sweden has been a super important place for the Olympics.

Sweden has won a HUGE number of medals. They have collected 514 medals from the Summer Olympics and another 176 from the Winter Olympics. That's a total of 690 medals! If you stacked them up, it would be taller than a giant skyscraper. These medals are for amazing sports like swimming, skiing, and gymnastics. It shows how dedicated Swedish athletes are to their sports.

Sweden has a special team that helps get their athletes ready for the Olympics. It's called the Swedish Olympic Committee, and it started in 1913. One of the very first people who helped start the whole Olympic Games, a man named Viktor Balck, was from Sweden! This shows that Sweden has been a part of the Olympics for a very, very long time.
