SS Great Britain

The SS Great Britain was a super-duper ship, the biggest passenger ship in the whole world when it first sailed in 1845! It was like a floating palace. It was so long, it could fit about three school buses end-to-end! This amazing ship was built to travel all the way from England to America, carrying people across the big, blue ocean.

This ship was super smart for its time. It was made of iron, which was strong, and it had a special spinning propeller at the back to push it through the water. It also had big sails, just in case!
