Sikhism in Pakistan

Imagine a time long, long ago, in a land that is now Pakistan! This is where Sikhism began, over 500 years ago. It's like finding the very first page of a super old and important book. The person who started it all was Guru Nanak, and his birthplace is a very special place called Nankana Sahib. It's a bit like visiting the house where your favorite superhero was born!

Pakistan is home to some incredibly important places for Sikhs. One is Nankana Sahib, where Guru Nanak was born. Another is Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib, where he spent his last days and was buried. These places are like ancient castles or special museums that tell stories of the past. Many Sikhs from all over the world visit these holy sites to learn and remember.

A long time ago, many, many Sikhs lived in Pakistan. In fact, there were millions of them! But then, a big change happened, and many had to move to a different country. It was like a huge school playground suddenly getting smaller, and some friends had to go to a different school. Today, there are fewer Sikhs in Pakistan, but their history is still very important.

Even though Sikhs are a small group in Pakistan now, they have a special committee called the PSGPC. This group helps take care of the holy places and makes sure everyone remembers Sikh history. The governments of Pakistan and India also help Sikhs travel to visit these important sites. It’s like having helpers to make sure a special tradition can continue.
