Sheremetyevo International Airport

Sheremetyevo International Airport is one of the biggest airports in Moscow, a huge city in Russia! It's so big, it's like a city just for airplanes. It's the busiest airport in Russia, which means more planes fly in and out of here than almost anywhere else in the country. Think of it as a super-duper busy playground for giant metal birds that fly people all over the world!

At Sheremetyevo, there are six special buildings called terminals. Some are for planes going to other countries, and one is just for planes staying in Russia. When a plane lands, it's like a big puzzle to get it to the right spot.

Tiny trucks and buses zoom around to help passengers and luggage. It's a very organized dance to make sure everyone and everything gets where it needs to go safely and quickly.

This airport is like a giant doorway to and from Russia! Millions of people travel through Sheremetyevo every year. It's where Aeroflot, a big Russian airline, has its main home. This means lots of people get to visit new places or come back home because of this airport. It helps connect people from all over the world to Russia and Russia to the world!

Believe it or not, Sheremetyevo wasn't always for airplanes carrying people! A long, long time ago, it started as a place for military planes. Then, in 1959, it was changed to become a place for everyone to fly. It was named after a small village nearby, and later, people voted to add the name of a famous Russian poet, Alexander Pushkin, to make it even more special!
