Ronald Reagan

Imagine someone who was on TV and in movies, and then became the leader of the whole country! That was Ronald Reagan. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1911. Before he was president, he was a famous actor. He even hosted his own TV show called 'General Electric Theater'! He was like a movie star who decided to run the United States.

Ronald Reagan was born in a small town in Illinois. After college, he became a sports announcer, talking about games on the radio. Then, he moved to California to become an actor. He made lots of movies! Later, he decided he wanted to do more and became a politician. He was the governor of California, which is like being the leader of a big state, before becoming president.

As president, Ronald Reagan wanted to make America strong. He believed in making businesses grow and giving people jobs. He also talked to leaders of other countries to try and keep peace. He was president for eight whole years, from 1981 to 1989. That's longer than you're in elementary school!

Ronald Reagan was the 40th president of the United States. He was known for his friendly smile and his inspiring speeches. Even after he was president, people remembered him fondly. He showed that you can have many different jobs and dreams in your life, like being an actor and then a president!
