Imagine being the boss of the whole United States! That's what Richard Nixon did. He was the 37th President, serving from 1969 to 1974.
Before that, he was the Vice President for eight whole years! He was born in a small town in California and grew up in a family that didn't have a lot of money. But he worked hard in school and became a lawyer.
He loved to learn and read, and he became a very important person in American history.

President Nixon was in charge when humans first walked on the Moon! That was the amazing Apollo 11 mission. He also wanted to make friends with faraway countries like China, which was a really big deal.
