Rex Harrison

Rex Harrison was a famous actor from England who loved to perform! He started acting a long, long time ago, even before your parents were born. He was really good at making people laugh and cry with his acting. He acted in plays on big stages and in movies you might have seen on TV. He was known for playing smart and sometimes funny characters.

Rex first became a star in a play called 'French Without Tears'. Imagine getting a big part in a school play and everyone loving it – that's what happened to Rex! He was so good that he won special awards called Tony Awards. He even played King Henry VIII, a very famous king, and later played a professor named Henry Higgins who taught a lady how to talk properly.

Not only was Rex great on stage, but he was also a movie star! He acted in many films, like 'Cleopatra' and 'Doctor Dolittle'. One of his most famous movie roles was playing Professor Henry Higgins again in 'My Fair Lady'. He was so good that he won an Oscar, which is like the biggest award for actors! That's like winning the best player award in every sport!

Rex Harrison kept acting for many, many years. He even wrote books about his life! When he was very old, almost 80 years old, the Queen of England even made him a knight. He was married six times and had two sons. He loved acting so much that he worked until he was 82 years old, just before he passed away.
