Quanzhou

Quanzhou is a city in China, on the coast near Taiwan. It's like a big hug from the ocean! It sits by a river called the Jin River. This spot is super important because it's easy for boats to get to. The city is really, really big, with lots of people living there. It's so big that it's like having many towns all joined together!

A super long time ago, Quanzhou was one of the busiest ports in the whole world! Ships from far away would bring treasures and goods. Famous travelers like Marco Polo visited and thought it was one of the most amazing cities they had ever seen. It was so important that big ships used it as a place to get ready for long journeys.

Because so many people from different countries visited Quanzhou, it was a place where everyone could share their ideas and beliefs. There were temples for Buddhists, places for Hindus, mosques for Muslims, and churches for Christians. It was like a giant party where people from all walks of life came together to live and trade.

Even though it's an old city, Quanzhou is still super important. It's so special because of its history as a busy trading port and all the different kinds of buildings from long ago. Because of this, it's now a UNESCO World Heritage site. That means it's a place the whole world wants to protect and remember!
