Meet Puyi, China's Last Emperor!
Puyi was born a prince, but when he was only two years old, something amazing happened. He became the Emperor of China! This was a super long time ago, from 1908 to 1912. He lived in a place called the Forbidden City, which was like a huge palace with thousands of rooms. Even though he was the emperor, he was still a little boy and couldn't do everything himself.
A King's Life, A Boy's Troubles
Being emperor was tricky! When Puyi was very young, grown ups made the big decisions. Later, things changed a lot. China became a republic, and Puyi had to leave his palace. He even became a ruler again for a short time in a place called Manchukuo, but he was mostly controlled by others. It was a life full of big changes for one person.
Living in the Forbidden City
Puyi lived in the Forbidden City, a place so big it felt like a small city itself! It had over 9,000 rooms and was surrounded by tall walls. He had many servants to help him. Imagine having so many people taking care of you! But even in such a grand place, he was eventually forced to leave and live a very different life.
Puyi's Story Today
After his time as emperor, Puyi lived a much simpler life. He was even imprisoned and taught new ways of thinking. He wrote a book about his life and became a regular citizen. Puyi shows us how history can be full of surprising twists and turns, even for someone who was once an emperor.
