Podlaskie Voivodeship

Podlaskie Voivodeship is a special part of Poland, way up in the northeast corner. It's like Poland's friendly neighbor to countries like Belarus and Lithuania. To its west and south, it has other Polish friends called Masovian, Warmian-Masurian, and Lublin Voivodeships.

The biggest and most important city in Podlaskie is called Białystok. It's a busy place where lots of people live and work. Think of it as the heart of the region!

Białystok is where the leaders of the voivodeship have their offices and make important decisions. It's also a place with lots of fun things to see and do, like museums and parks. It's a modern city but still has a special charm that connects it to the rest of the beautiful Podlaskie region.

This area became the Podlaskie Voivodeship not too long ago, in 1999. Before that, it was actually made up of a few different parts. Imagine taking pieces from different puzzles and putting them together to make one big, awesome picture!

The government decided to combine parts of the old Białystok, Łomża, and Suwałki regions to create this new, unified area. This helped make things simpler and more organized for everyone living there.
