Lithuania

Imagine a country in Europe shaped like a little boot! That's Lithuania. It sits right by the big, blue Baltic Sea. To its north is Latvia, and to its east and south is Belarus. Poland is to the south, and a tiny part of Russia called Kaliningrad is to the southwest. It's like a puzzle piece in Northern Europe, with lots of neighbors!

A super long time ago, brave people called Balts lived here. Then, a king named Mindaugas brought everyone together to form a kingdom! Later, Lithuania became so big it was the largest country in all of Europe. Wow! It even joined with Poland to make an even bigger, super-powerful country for a while.

Today, Lithuania is a modern country where people are known for being very happy. It has amazing internet, and people are free to share their ideas. It's a member of big clubs like the European Union and NATO, which are like international teams that help countries work together.

Lithuania is full of green forests and sparkling lakes. You can find lots of amber, which is like ancient tree sap that turned into pretty stones. Did you know that Lithuania was the first country to break away from the Soviet Union? That's a super important moment in history!
