Pillars of Hercules

Imagine two enormous rocks standing tall like guardians at the edge of the sea. These are the Pillars of Hercules! One is a famous big rock called the Rock of Gibraltar, which is super tall, like a mountain!

So, these rocks have been famous for a very, very long time!

These pillars are important because they mark the entrance to a very busy sea path. Ships have sailed between Europe and Africa through this strait for thousands of years. Think of it like a busy highway for boats!
