Who Are the Parsis?

Imagine people who are like a special club with a very old story! That’s a bit like the Parsis. They are a group of people who follow a religion called Zoroastrianism.

This religion started in a country called Iran a super long time ago. When things got tough in Iran, some Parsis decided to sail across the sea to find a new home. They are known for their kindness and for keeping their traditions alive.

A Big Journey to India!

A long, long time ago, around 1,400 years ago, some people in Iran had to leave their homes. They were called Zoroastrians. They found a safe place to live in India, in a town called Sanjan. The king there said, 'Welcome!' These people were the first Parsis to arrive in India. They traveled by boat, like a big adventure, to start a new life and keep their beliefs safe.

Keeping Old Ways Alive!

The Parsis are amazing because they remember their history and their special ways of life. They brought their language and their stories with them. Even though they live in India now, they still remember where their ancestors came from. It’s like remembering your grandparents’ stories and traditions. They are a small but important part of India's big, colorful picture.

Parsis Today!

Today, Parsis are known for being very smart and kind. Many have become famous doctors, artists, and business people. They are a small community, but they have made a big difference in India. They show us how people can share their culture and live happily in a new place, keeping their unique identity strong and proud.
