Key Facts

What It Is
The result or information produced by a system or machine.
Where It's Found
Computers, machines, math problems, and even in making goods.
Key Feature
It's the final product after a process.
Why It Matters
It shows us what a system has done and helps us learn.

What's Happening When They're Done?

Imagine you're building with LEGOs. When you finish, you have a cool spaceship or a tall tower to show! That finished thing is like an 'output'.

In computers and machines, output is the information or the result they give us after they do their job. It could be a picture on the screen, a sound from a speaker, or even a toy car that moves when you press a button. It's what they produce for us to see or use!

From Ideas to Awesome Stuff!

Think about a baker making cookies. First, they get the ingredients (that's like 'input'). Then, they mix and bake them. The yummy cookies that come out of the oven are the 'output'! In science, output can be the power a machine makes, like how a fan blows air. Or in math, it's the answer you get when you solve a problem. It’s always the final thing that comes out after a process has happened.

Why We Love Outputs!

Outputs are super important because they let us know what happened! When you play a video game, the pictures and sounds you see and hear are the computer's output. It tells you if you won or lost!

When a scientist uses a special machine, the numbers or graphs it shows are the output. They help us learn new things about the world. Without output, we wouldn't know if our machines or computers even worked!

Seeing Outputs All Around!

You see outputs everywhere! The words on your tablet screen are an output. The music playing from a speaker is an output. Even when a printer makes a drawing on paper, that paper is the output. In economics, output means how much stuff a factory makes, like how many toys or cars. It's all about the finished product that comes out of a system.
