Orchard

An orchard is like a special garden, but instead of flowers, it's full of trees that grow delicious fruits like apples, oranges, and peaches! These trees are planted in neat rows, making them easy for farmers to take care of and pick the ripe fruit. It’s a super tasty place to visit, especially when the fruit is ready to eat!

People have been collecting fruit from trees for thousands of years! But planting them in special orchards started a very long time ago, in places like ancient Egypt and Greece. Imagine people discovering how to grow their own yummy apples instead of just finding them in the wild. That’s how orchards began!

Orchards are like nature's candy stores! They give us so much of the fruit we love to eat. Without orchards, we wouldn't have apples for our snacks, pears for our lunches, or cherries for our pies.
