New Valley Governorate

The New Valley Governorate is a super-duper big place in Egypt, way over on the southwest side. It's part of the HUGE Sahara Desert! Think of it like a giant sandy playground. It's so big that it takes up half of all the land in Egypt. Even though it's so large, not many people live there, making it a very quiet and spread-out place. The main city where everyone gathers is called Kharga.

This giant desert is called the 'New Valley' because of a special project. People are trying to bring water to parts of the desert to grow yummy food. This project is like giving the desert a drink!
