New South Wales Legislative Assembly

This important meeting room is inside a building called Parliament House. It's in Sydney, which is like the capital city of New South Wales, a huge place in Australia. Think of Sydney as the biggest playground in that part of the country, and Parliament House is a very important building right in the middle of it all. It's where lots of big decisions are made for everyone who lives there.

Inside this room, there are 93 people called Members. They are like the captains of different teams, and each captain is chosen by the people in their area. When it's time to vote, everyone gets to pick their favorite captain. These Members then go to the meeting room to talk about what's best for everyone in New South Wales. It's like a big team meeting for the whole state!

Sometimes, the Members in the room get very excited and talk very loudly! It can be a bit like a noisy playground when everyone wants to speak at once. Because of this, some people call the room a 'bearpit'.

But even when it's noisy, they are all working hard to figure out the best way to help the people of New South Wales. They have a special leader called the Speaker who helps keep things in order.

These Members talk about all sorts of things that affect people's lives. They discuss new ideas for schools, how to keep parks nice, and making sure everyone is safe.
