Muslim Walls of Madrid

Long, long ago, Madrid was a tiny village protected by a giant wall! These walls were built by people called Muslims, who lived in Spain a super long time ago, back in the 9th century. They built them on a hill next to a river called the Manzanares. It was like a big hug around the town to keep everyone safe. The people who built these walls were part of a group called the Moors. They were very skilled builders! They built the walls around a special park named after a leader called Muhammad I of Córdoba. He's like the superhero who helped start the city of Madrid. Think of it like building a super-strong fort to protect your favorite toys, but this fort was for a whole city!

The walls had special lookout towers, like tall eyes watching over the land. One tower, called the Tower of Narigües, was a bit separate from the main wall but connected by a smaller wall. You can find parts of these ancient walls in a park called Mohamed I. It's named after the person who helped start Madrid. Imagine playing in a park where you can also see walls that are over 1,000 years old! Some parts of the walls were even found under a big square where people gather.
