Michelle grew up in sunny California and even lived in Mexico City for a while. When she was a young woman, she met John Phillips, and together they started The Mamas & the Papas. After The Mamas & the Papas, Michelle decided to try acting. She was really good at it! She acted in movies and TV shows, playing all sorts of characters.

One of her early movie roles was in a film called Dillinger, and she was so good she was nominated for an award! She even starred in a movie called The California Kid, which was about teenagers. She showed everyone she could do more than just sing!

Michelle Phillips is still an important part of music history. She's the last original member of The Mamas & the Papas still with us. In 1998, the band was even put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is a super special place for music legends.
