Liberia

Imagine a country shaped like a friendly wave on the edge of Africa! That's Liberia. It's near the big, blue Atlantic Ocean. To its sides are other countries like Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Ivory Coast. Liberia is about as big as the state of Tennessee in the USA. It has warm weather and lots of green trees, making it a beautiful place to explore!

Liberia has a very special story. A long time ago, people from America who were free African Americans and from the Caribbean islands came to live here. They wanted to build a new home. Liberia became the first African country to be free and independent, like a superhero declaring its own freedom! It's the oldest free country in all of Africa.

In Liberia, people speak English, but also over 20 other languages! This means lots of different ways to say hello and share stories. The biggest city is called Monrovia, and it's a busy place. Liberia is famous for growing rubber, which is used to make tires for cars and bikes. It's also full of beautiful nature.

Many people in Liberia work with the land, growing things like rubber. Some people also work in mines, finding important minerals. The country has faced some tough times, like wars, but the people are strong and have worked hard to build peace and make their country better. They are always looking forward to a brighter future.
