Who is Lee Hsien Loong?
Imagine a very important person who was like the captain of a big ship, guiding a country called Singapore for a long, long time! That was Lee Hsien Loong. He was born a long time ago, in 1952, when Singapore was a different place.
He is the son of Singapore's very first leader, Lee Kuan Yew. Lee Hsien Loong studied hard, even learning about computers and math, and worked in the army before becoming a leader.
Singapore's Super Captain!
Lee Hsien Loong became the Prime Minister of Singapore in 2004. That means he was the main leader for 20 whole years! During his time, he helped make Singapore even better. He helped start things like a five-day school week for some people and longer holidays for new moms. He also helped build amazing places like the Marina Bay Sands, which is a super tall hotel with a boat on top!
Making Big Changes!
When something tricky happened, like a big money problem called the Great Recession, Lee Hsien Loong helped Singapore get back on its feet. He also helped Singapore get ready for new challenges, like making sure everyone had enough food and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. He even made sure Singapore was one of the only countries in its area to say no to a big conflict happening far away.

Even though he is not the Prime Minister anymore, Lee Hsien Loong is still a very important person in Singapore. He helped make rules that tried to make things fair for everyone. He also made sure that Singapore kept its strong traditions. He showed that even after being a leader for so long, you can still help your country in different ways.
