Ken Dryden

Imagine a giant net on the ice, and Ken Dryden was the superhero guarding it! He played ice hockey for a famous team called the Montreal Canadiens. His job was to stop the puck from going into the net, and he was REALLY good at it! He was so good, he helped his team win the big Stanley Cup trophy six times. That's like winning a championship every year for six years straight!

When Ken Dryden wasn't busy being a hockey legend, he was also super smart. He became a lawyer, which means he knew a lot about rules and helping people. Then, he became a politician, which is like being a leader for a whole country! He even wrote books. It's amazing how one person can be so good at so many different things, like sports and helping people with important jobs.

Did you know Ken Dryden won a special award called the Vezina Trophy five times? This award is given to the goalie who lets in the fewest goals. That means he was the best at stopping shots! He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy, which is for the best player in the whole playoff tournament. He was so awesome, he's even remembered as one of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players ever!

After his amazing hockey career, Ken Dryden decided to help people in a different way. He became a Member of Parliament in Canada, which is like being a representative for many people. He even became a Minister, which is a very important job helping to make sure people have what they need. He showed everyone that you can be a sports hero and a great leader too.
