Imagine stepping onto a spaceship, not in real life, but on a TV show! That’s what Josette Simon did when she played Dayna Mellanby in a cool science fiction show called Blake's 7. She was part of exciting adventures from 1980 to 1981.

Before that, when she was just 14, she even sang in a big musical called Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She’s been acting for a super long time, showing us how amazing stories can be!

Josette Simon is like a superhero of the theatre! She has performed in about 50 plays with the famous Royal Shakespeare Company. That’s like going to the same amazing playground 50 times!

She even played a queen, Cleopatra, in a play called Antony and Cleopatra. This was a super long show that lasted for six months! She also played characters that were usually played by actors with different skin colors, which was a big deal and helped make theatre more inclusive.

Did you know Josette Simon was the very first Black woman to perform in a play with the Royal Shakespeare Company? That’s like being the first person to discover a secret hideout! She did this in a play called Salvation Now.

She also played a character named Maggie, who was thought to be like the famous movie star Marilyn Monroe. Josette has won many awards for her acting, like shiny trophies for being the best actress. She was even given a special honor by the Queen for her amazing work in acting!

Josette Simon didn't just stop at space adventures and Shakespeare! She has been in lots of other TV shows and movies. She played police officers in shows like Silent Witness and Broadchurch, and even a lawyer in Anatomy of a Scandal.

She’s also acted in radio plays. She’s like a chameleon, changing into so many different characters and showing us how versatile an actor can be. Her career shows us that hard work and talent can lead to incredible adventures!
