Before he was a famous wrestler, he was a sumo wrestler in Japan, which is a sport where two big people try to push each other out of a ring. He was really good at it and had a cool sumo name too!
From Japan to the USA!
John Tenta started his sports journey in Japan as a sumo wrestler named Kototenzan. He was so good that people noticed him! But then, he decided to try something new: professional wrestling in the United States.
He joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he became the mighty Earthquake. He was so big, he could make the whole ring shake when he jumped! He even teamed up with his friend Typhoon to form a tag team called The Natural Disasters.
