John Allen Chau

Imagine a young man named John Allen Chau. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1991! John loved to explore and learn about new places. He was also a missionary, which means he wanted to share his beliefs with others. He was curious about people who lived very different lives from his own.

John heard about a special island called North Sentinel Island. It's like a hidden treasure! The people who live there, the Sentinelese, have lived on their island for thousands of years and like to be left alone. John decided he wanted to visit them, even though it was a very risky trip.

John traveled to North Sentinel Island in 2018. He wanted to meet the Sentinelese people and share his faith. The Sentinelese are very protective of their home and have chosen to live without contact with the outside world. They have their own unique ways of life that have been passed down for generations.

Sadly, John's visit to North Sentinel Island did not end happily. The Sentinelese people did not want visitors, and they defended their island. John's journey became a reminder of how important it is to respect people's wishes and their homes, especially when they want to live in peace.
