Joan of Arc

Imagine a young girl named Joan, who lived a long, long time ago in a small village in France. She wasn't like other kids; she believed she heard special voices from angels! These voices told her to help the French people during a very long and difficult war against England.

Joan was only about 17 years old when she bravely went to see the French prince, telling him she was sent to help him win. It’s like a superhero getting her mission from a secret headquarters!

The French army was feeling very sad and tired during the war. But when Joan arrived at a big city called Orléans, carrying her special flag, everyone felt hopeful again! She was like a cheerleader for the whole army.

Amazingly, after she arrived, the English soldiers who were trying to take over the city gave up and left! It was a huge victory, and it showed everyone that Joan’s bravery and belief could make a real difference. She helped the French win many more battles after that.

Joan’s biggest dream was to see the French prince become the real King of France. Because of her victories, the path was clear for him to go to a special city called Reims. There, he was crowned King Charles VII, with Joan standing proudly beside him!

This was a super important moment that made the French people feel strong and united. It was like winning the biggest game of the year and celebrating with everyone!

Even though Joan was a hero, sadly, she was captured and put on trial. She was very young, only about 19, when she died. But her story didn't end there!

Later, people realized she was treated unfairly. They cleared her name, and now she is remembered as a brave defender of France. She was even made a saint, which is like being a special hero in heaven!

People still celebrate her courage and how she inspired a whole country.
