Jet stream

Jet streams are like super-fast rivers, but instead of water, they carry air! They are long, thin bands of air that zoom around our planet high up in the sky. Think of them as invisible highways for wind. These sky rivers are usually found way up where airplanes fly, much higher than birds can go. They help move clouds and storms from one place to another, like a giant air conveyor belt.

Jet streams don't just flow anywhere; they have special paths! There are two main jet streams that circle the Earth. One is near the North Pole and the other is near the South Pole. They flow from west to east, which is why weather often moves across countries from west to east.
