Jesco von Puttkamer

Jesco von Puttkamer was a super smart scientist who loved space! He was born a long, long time ago, in 1933, in a country called Germany. Imagine a time before smartphones or even many cars!

Jesco grew up dreaming about rockets and stars. He became a scientist who worked with NASA, the space agency that sends astronauts to the Moon and beyond. He helped plan exciting space missions that taught us so much about our solar system and the universe.

Jesco worked on some really cool projects. One of his biggest jobs was helping plan missions to explore planets like Mars and Jupiter. He thought about what kind of tools the astronauts would need and what questions they should try to answer.
