King of the Castles!

James IV was a king in Scotland, a country in the north of an island called Great Britain. He became king when he was only fifteen years old, which is like being in the middle of middle school! Scotland has lots of green hills and big castles. James IV ruled for a long time, about 25 years, and made Scotland a stronger place.

Building a Super Navy!

James IV was super proud of his country's navy, which is like the army for ships. He built two special places to make ships and got or built 38 new ones! The biggest ship was called the 'Great Michael' and it was the largest warship of its time. Imagine a ship bigger than a school bus, that's how big it was!

Smarty Pants King!

This king loved learning and helping others learn too. He made sure that printing presses, which print books, came to Scotland. He also helped start a university where people go to learn even more, and even made a law that all kids had to go to school! Wow, he really cared about education.

A King's Big Adventure!

James IV was a very successful king. He made friends with England for a while, and even married an English princess. But then, when England's king went to war in France, James IV decided to help his French friends instead. He led his army into England, but sadly, he was killed in a big battle called the Battle of Flodden.
