The leaders of this revolution were incredible! Toussaint Louverture was a brilliant general who helped guide the fight. He was like a super-smart captain leading his team. Jean-Jacques Dessalines was another strong leader who helped make sure the fight for freedom was won. These brave men and many others worked together to create a new nation where everyone could be free.

After many years of fighting, the people of Saint-Domingue won! They created a brand new country called Haiti. This was super special because it was the first free country in the Americas started by formerly enslaved people. It showed everyone that people could fight for their freedom and win, no matter what!
